iOS 26 Preview is scheduled to be released in the fall 2025, but a Public Beta should be available around mid-July.
Apple is making big changes to the iOS numbering system – skipping from iOS 18 all the way to iOS 26 – to match the corresponding year of each iOS release.
Being too impatient to wait until the fall and always adventurous, I decided to take the plunge with my iPhone 16e, and see what all the riff raff is about.

Appleβs new Liquid Glass design ethos, is prominent all throughout the operating system and all built-in apps – but there are plenty of useful under the hood additions to iOS 26 also

A new Preview app for screenshots, images and PDFs, a new Games app, and updates to Apple Intelligence like Call screening, Hold Assist, Language translation in Calls and Messages, and adding Polls in group chats.



Because this is a beta, weβre just going to do a quick walk through of the new features – as anything can change before its official release.

There are many under the hood tweaks to privacy and security, new documents that you can store in Wallet, preferred routes in Maps and more.
